Grave arrangements and bouquets

Grave arrangements, grave decorations and funeral arrangements

Memorial days are for the bereaved and always have to do with places of mourning and
remembrance, i.e. cemeteries or memorials.

The floristry industry, and cemetery stores in particular, give these days a dignified setting with their floral work and produce highly symbolic pieces.

These are designed in a variety of ways and tailored specifically to the day of remembrance.

The funeral bouquet

The funeral bouquet is produced all year round in the funeral bindery, usually as a small mourning gift when a wreath is too expensive. It is a special form of bouquet. In contrast to the "normal" bouquet, this one is not tied in a round shape.

Due to its use (for laying on the grave), one flat side is incorporated as the laying side. The shape of the binding is mainly drop-shaped. In another production method, the materials are worked into a grave bouquet holder. This has the advantage that it supplies the fresh materials with water (longer lasting) and there is a handle for carrying.

In memorial day floristry, it is also important to use durable materials due to its use in November. The funeral bouquet is made from fresh conifers and coniferous branches. The dry materials (cones on wire, exotic plants and garnish material) are tied in directly and fixed into a bouquet with winding wire.

What products do we supply for this? Cones and cone supports, garnishing material (natural and colored exotics), wires and grave bouquet holders (green cuttings).

The double bouquet or the double bouquet

The double bouquet is actually a double funeral bouquet and therefore more expensive. It is based on the decorative, teardrop-shaped bouquet, but is an arrangement consisting of two opposing tips and without a bouquet stem.

In simple terms, two bouquets are worked into each other to form a large oval-shaped arrangement. A large cone (usually Pinus Pinea or Maritima) is used in the middle as a decorative element and to cover the "seam". More elaborate and expensive, but better, is a double bouquet in a grave arrangement holder (cuttings with a supporting grid on a wooden board).

The double bouquet is particularly suitable for covering and decorating larger graves. Naturally, durable materials are also used here.

What products do we supply for this? Tenons and tenon supports, garnishing material (exotic, natural and dyed), wires, plugs and support grids.

The funeral arrangement and the burial bowl

The shapes of grave arrangements can be very diverse. The basis is a grave arrangement holder, which is available in various sizes. The smooth base makes it easy to place on the grave.

Other possible bases for the grave arrangement are bowls into which a plug-in brick is incorporated. It is secured in the bowl with concrete, soil or by clamping it in place. It is important that the brick protrudes upwards over the edge so that the twigs can also be used horizontally.

What products do we supply? Cones and cone supports, garnishing material (exotic, natural and colored), wires, plug-in materials and support grids, grave arrangement holders, clay bowls, with and without plug-in bricks.

Molded parts and accessories

At the cemetery, floral arrangements with symbolic references are a sign
of special closeness to the deceased. Symbolic floristry is multifaceted.

Heart shapes are strong symbols that indicate a close personal relationship. Wreaths symbolize infinity and crosses stand for a religious bond. This formal language expresses compassion and the shape becomes an individual mourning greeting. Angels naturally also play an important role in the symbolism. Florists design these and other symbolic figures, such as an open book, praying hands, roses, a stone with a personal message and other accessories, to create personalized floral arrangements.

Moss crosses, moss cushions, moss rhombs and forest wreaths are also part of the classic gravesite decorations from November onwards. The materials used in them provide some color and a comforting sight throughout the winter, as they last until spring.

What products do we supply for this? Cones and cone supports, Romans, wreath
sanding, garnishing material (exotic, natural and dyed), wires and adhesives, plug-in masses and support grids, molded parts made of polystyrene and biofoam for trimming, dry mosses, basket parts made of willow, salim, etc.
